  Apparently Hitchcock wanted Johnnie to be a murderer. Wife was supposed to know she was drinking a poison drink that she gave him.  When deciding to drink it, should have resulted in her death. Supposed to have sent mother a letter about it I think. But, RKO studios did not like that ending and made Hitchcock cut out the parts of him being a murder.

  There is so much I can say about this film. I finally got to fully watch it at 18 years old, having an education in film and a passion for music I was truly motivated by this piece. The message resonated with me. In dark times music can be the light to guide you out. It is fascinating to see how the play was split at intermission.
