When I think of the term “indie film” The Inspection is exactly what comes to mind. A low-budget, intimate, very well acted film that I didn’t hear main stream audiences talk about enough. I was not expecting to be as captivated by the story when I started it, but by the end I felt like I discovered something great. This is partially due to Jeremy Popes phenomenal performance that was criminally ignored by the Academy.

Anora is wildly entertaining and Mikey Madison is exceptionally great. I know I love a film when I completely get lost in the story unfolding onscreen. I was not expecting to be as entranced with Anora as I was and that ending was *chefs kiss* perfection.

    ★★★

The Offer is just Paramount trying to show off how great of a studio they used to be. This show name drops every actor/director or movie possible. It’s enjoyable at the beginning but gets old near the end. I also could have done without the whole mafia storyline which I read online was mostly false. However, I do enjoy nostalgia and this has a lot of it as it relates to The Godfather obviously. It could have been three episodes shorter though.

How can you not enjoy a film about the love of movies and one that has a great emotional final scene. I will say that the first hour is a bit boring, but it really picks up after that. I understand the need for parts of the first hour because it really helps with the pay off. However, I think it could have been done a little more efficiently.

The one word to describe Ford V. Ferrari is exhilarating. Those racing scenes really pull you in and don’t let you breathe till it’s over. Bale and Damon are great together and it’s a shame that they’re running against each other in the best actor category. The supporting cast is awesome too.

Yeah, that’s an Aaron Sorkin script. This was so engaging it just flew by. Fantastic editing and acting, everyone put in their best performance. I honestly could of just restarted it right when it ended.
