In my previous review of this movie I knocked it for baby anakin, but I think it works. Relational dynamics with qui gon and his mother would not be the same if he had been older.
The way Lucas sets up the prequels with this movie is an absolute masterclass in writing. I genuinely believe that if you cut the pod racing in half people would like it more, but all the boring scenes give you so much more information…
