Typical but effective filmmaking for the first hour with some great tension and mystery…but then this thing really fell off for me. It is over explanatory and treats its audience like idiots. I sort of like the ideas that it is spewing, but it feels scared of its own thesis and resolves into arbitrary muck. I love its size, pacing, and fundamental dialectic…but I just can’t help but cringe at how overstated and smug it is.

Arthur will always be simply the best. Especially for the intended age group, the situations are incredibly realistic and graspable, which is what makes it one of the greatest television shows ever. It explores a diverse range of conflicts from daily social struggles to existential doubt. It explores the world we are living in today and promotes progressive conversations. The characters are consistent yet complex, the plot is grounded yet whimsical, and it’s funny as fuck.
