  Charlie Kaufman needs a Spike Jonze or Michel Gondry to reign in his ideas. His collaborations (Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine, Being John Malkovich) are complex, but not complicated. They perfectly execute a high concept. I find his solo projects (Synecdoche, I'm Thinking of Ending Things) are complicated to the point of illegibility.
