The core Penelope Cruz / Adam Driver dynamic was really compelling but I felt like the pacing dragged until the ending. The couple really standout scenes (the opera, the races & church scene) were great, especially how LOUD the cars were.

The framing of the horrors of the military dictatorship through the lens of a family drama worked really well. Forced disappearances are truly one of the cruelest tools of repression - they terrorize the entire family.
Fernanda Torres is incredible in this movie - so much strength and resilience. She deserves the Oscar.

Very pretty movie with gorgeous architecture
Alone and trapped by uncertainty in their lives, the two leads share a connection, if only for a brief moment - it feels like Lost in Translation but slower and more contemplative.
Not sure how I had never heard of this movie until recently, but highly recommend.
