I’m still baffled by the fact that Ryan Gosling can perfectly play a completely different type of character in every film he’s in. Incredibly versatile actor.
The film itself was sweet in some ways but also a bit weird and probably not one I’d go out of my way to recommend or watch again myself.
“We used to look up in the sky and wonder about our place in the stars. Now we just look down, and worry about our place in the dirt.”
Amazing that the film can subconsciously create such a grand sense of distance that when the camera pans to Saturn near the end of the film it literally feels like home…. Saturn is 1.2 billion kilometres away 🫢

I’m really in two minds about this film. One the one hand I did really enjoy parts of it. The tension was there, some parts were cleverly written and Josh Harnett’s performance was disturbing as fuck. His character arc was also really cool in my opinion, but still needed more to it.
But on the other hand it just didn’t live up to expectations. Almost the definition of wasted potential. On top of that, what came off as terrible acting…
