A decent 19th century set, psychological, folk type horror story. Well made, good cinematography, but comes up short in the scares department. It was going for one of those movies that gets by on an eerie atmosphere and a mounting sense of dread, unfortunately it wasn’t able to conjure up much of either.

I’ve never been a fan of Michael Bay and this movie was another shining example of why that is the case. A weak, preposterous script filled with corny dialogue and cardboard characters. Bad acting, nonstop booming score and editing that is enough to give someone with ADD a grand mal seizure.
