Aftersun 2022
One of the things that stuck with me the most was the scene where Calum tells Sophie about his 11th birthday and about the toy he chose back then. As an 11-year-old who could’ve chosen any toy he picked a phone and I can’t help but imagine that little boy pretending to call someone, pretending to speak to someone, literally calling and reaching out.
It’s a little detail among many in this wonderful film but one that I think works…Translated from by
