A Real Pain 2024
Kieran Cullen was fantastic in this and I definitely see why he won best Supporting Actor. His character is just as unhinged as I imagine him to be in real life and it makes for a great performance.

Watched this on the plane and I enjoyed it so much more than I was expecting to. While it was obviously dramatized, it's a nice reminder that not even the church is immune to politics.
Ralph Fiennes was exceptional in his lead role and it was an Oscar-worthy performance. I loved the obvious irony of how even in the conclave where they're supposedly cut off from the outside world, he still finds a way to stay connected with everything justifying…Translated from by

This was very different than I expected - I thought this would be mainly about the rivalry on and off the court to win Zendaya's character over, and in some way it was, it was just a lot more twisted than I expected. Gave me Saltburn vibes a little bit where it's manipulative and fucked up but so well done that I have to give them credit. So many scenes focusing on intense camera angles and sounds that it made me borderline uncomfortable at times. I loved the interlayering of timelines rather than one linear progression.
