Regrettably wasn’t feeling this like I thought I was going to. With this being so long awaited, and as the next film after Parasite in Bong’s filmography, it had a lot to live up to - but unfortunately it fell short for me.

Weird pacing, plot threads that didn’t really go anywhere, Adam McKay-tier political commentary, and really kind of fails to fully explore any of the premises that it sets up. If this was made by any other mid-tier…

Congratulations to the 14 year old boys who managed to get their script greenlit by Apple we’re all very proud of you!

Thrilled to announce that I really enjoyed this one - well done Fede!

The sets and direction definitely stand out here, it’s amazing how immediately a practical set and good lighting can set a movie a cut above the rest in 2024 (especially coming off the heels of something like Deadpool & Wolverine where they couldn’t even be bothered to shoot a solo dance scene in the fucking woods). Long live the fighters. Long live Denis.

This is what I imagine it felt like to watch the original LOTR or Star Wars trilogies in theaters. You can feel the passion oozing from every frame, I don’t think there’s another director out there who could pull this off (which makes me preemptively mourn the inevitable milking-to-death of the Dune property, but that’s a problem for later)

Really just no notes at all. Inspired casting (Christopher Walken somehow feels very out of place but also perfect?), excellent visuals, a soundtrack for the ages, it all comes together perfectly.

    Denis bros, we won.
