  guys it’s not avant-garde just because it doesn’t make sense. there was no consistency, no fluidity, no conclusion of literally any point. they didn’t expand on any of the interesting things they brought up such as the vampire mechanics (his shadow, the rigor mortis, the rats and dirt), count orlock and ellen’s connection, knock’s obsession with count orlock/nosferatu. and the cinematography wasn’t that good like there are hundreds of better silent films. max schreck’s acting was incredible. he was terrifying. but i just felt so unsatisfied by the entire production especially coming in with high expectations.
