Society of the Snow 2023
It has some really nice moments! But this movie does not need to be 2 and a half hours long. Maybe it’s because the setting never changes, maybe it’s because the source of tension shifts but doesn’t change but holy smokes did this turn into a slog. And I usually love movies like this! Unfortunately I just started to get bored. Has some solid acting and writing, would get 4 stars if it was an hour and a half.

I cannot fathom the bravery it took to make this movie. With this directors audience, laying himself bare and using this film as his autobiography and “message to the future” is insane. And its brilliantly crafted ceiling to floorboard. I initially wanted to give it 4.5 but after stewing on it I must hand it to Spielberg.
