Happy Together 1997
Read a Twitter thread about how the 4K 2011 restoration of Happy Together on Criterion has a different colour grade from the theatrical print. Decided to see what the whole deal was.

We need to stop going back to making 3 hour long movies.
Anyway, a little scattered. I get this feeling that Nagraj Manjule sanitised his messages for a broader audience and also maybe because he's getting the mainstreamest mainstream funding and the funniest part is this sanitised approach itself may feel too radical to quite a few people. The length doesn't help.
Also, the non stop dolly zooms felt a bit unnecessary but also got me a lil dizzy.
I would still recommend.
