  Hereditary feels like an intimately personal film. It makes you uncomfortable to see a family dealing with a parent with severe mental health issues and the fallout of that behavior. Ari Aster’s script hits all the right notes of what true horror is: ambiguous and destabilizing environments that threaten one’s physical and mental safety.
