this was one crazy arse movie. crazy racist but also very feel good. percy adlon took all the stereotypes of black people and threw them into this one film (angry black woman, deadbeat dads, girls that are promiscuous) and then said “watch this” and proceeded to make this movie. really good soundtrack though. why mrs. munchgstettner was kinda bad tbh 💯

this film was stunning in every way — set in the years 1950-2023, the deterioration but modernization was an interesting juxtaposition.
visually, it was a powerhouse. the backdrop of napoli with its exquisite beaches, fine grain sand and gorgeous rock formations was excellent storytelling. emotionally, this film took me by surprise. from the trailers, i would’ve thought that this would’ve been a challengers part 2, but it was not in any way. they didn’t reheat challengers nachos, they made fresh…

i first became enthralled with robert eggers from the vvitch. the lighthouse was good too! this movie was different. it’s always a welcome treat to see willem dafoe. he’s really been killing it in all the movies i’ve seen this year. contrary to reviews, nosferatu was not very scary nor that gory. lily-rose depp stay not having clothes on, but hey im not shaming! dudes do anything to hit i swear 🙄
