The Boys in the Boat 2023
This was a well done “based on a true story” film. This story features a very standard plot of a group overcoming adversity and reaching a mountain top, but I thought that they executed it well. Obviously it wasn’t perfect, but it made you feel good and it was enjoyable, and sometimes that’s just what you need!

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story 2022
Very weird. But that’s what the goal of the film was. As someone who grew up listening to Weird Al, it brought back a lot of memories of watching his music videos with my dad. Throughout the course of the hour and 48 minutes, I continually found myself laughing and smiling. Not the best movie in the world, but it is worth the watch, especially for Weird Al fans!

The Witch 2015
Very odd and interesting movie, but at the same time, it was so captivating. A slow burning movie, but at the same time, it was so well developed. In parts it was hard to follow, just because of the way the dialogue was written, however, it remained in line with the dialogue of the time, so I appreciated that. Good film, but it was just a little too much at times. I think the underlying message of this film is to not always blame someone and outcast them, because it just might turn out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
