This was Sean Baker at his absolute best. The one thing that he does better than anyone is taking characters that are so incredibly flawed that you would usually dislike them in real-life but shows the human side of them and makes you care for them. Because of the circumstances revolving around this entire saga, there is nothing like this film. They're able to pull off things that you just can't pull off in any other movie. It wasn't so much a trip to the cinema as it was an entire experience the took you through an 11-year journey and capped it off with such satisfaction. They took risks and they rewarded us for our journey. The film certainly has some faults, but this is one of those few instances where you can easily look past every single one of them.
A movie like this is difficult to talk about because of how certain things have not aged well. What it does right, it does REALLY well. However, some of the cringy things do hold it back from being that next-level piece of classic cinema.
