This was sadly a bit underwhelming. The VFX are fantastic and the new cast is solid as well. Wes Ball also delivers.

The film just feels quite tedious and has a major villain problem. Proximus appears way to late and has almost no effect on Noa‘s journey whatsoever as that part gets handed to a nameless henchmen. That hindered me from being emotionally invested. Here and there are glimpses of new and exciting ideas for the franchise but the film…

What an absolute beast of a film. Denis Villeneuve has crafted a true sci-fi epic for the ages. Every cast member delivers! The technical aspects are INCREDIBLE! The cinematography, the score, costume design… everyone brought their absolute A game. Absolutely loved it!

This was pretty good. It has quite a few of set ups at the beginning until the true story of the film finally starts. Also I kind of didn’t expect this to be like a sort of law thriller. I honestly thought this would be more like an action thriller. But I was pleasantly surprised.

I liked it. It doesn’t really tell you a lot about Dylan or anyone else basically. The conflict of „Going Electric“ (which this film was once named) isn’t really build up well in my opinion. You really come for the music (which there is truly a surprising ton of) and the performances. Loved Edward Norton in this and Elle Fanning is also great. Timothée Chalamet completely disappears. Fun time at the movies!

My opinion on this really doesn’t matter and I hope a lot of people will like this movie. My biggest problem with it is, that our main character is literally the most boring one. There are many side characters that should have been the lead. It has an important message, but there sadly isn’t a great narrative around it.
