    1. This film seems a response to Justice, My Foot! (dir. Jonnie To, 1992), where Chow's characters in both films turn from a corrupt judicial position to the opposite. The cunning "lawyer" Fong in this film is like Chow's character Song in Justice, My Foot!. It is interesting that the results of the court battles in these films depend on the protagonists' eloquence and other tricks, instead of evidence or due process.
