  Gothic horror with extravagant Italian sensibilities. There is a lot to indulge in with this one. Perhaps it’s because I watched the English dub version, but there was something disaffected about the dialogue. Nonetheless, Soavi and Argento struck some crazy demon magic here. 

  I walked away thinking of the church representing The Tower in tarot. The upheaval required for a clean slate, and the unrelenting productive force of karma.

  History is often erroneously understood as actions and reactions, mostly spearheaded by Great Men. Men who are insular in their greatness, single agents of change. Oppenheimer takes a moment from history and blows it up—some pun intended—so that we may look upon a world on the brink of change.

  War movies are not usually something I gravitate towards, so I was pleasantly relieved with how Nolan handles the genre. This is not a war movie, it’s a character study on contradictions…
