Return of the Street Fighter 1974
Sonny Chiba is back - in the same year as the original with a similar cast? How fast were they cranking out these cinematic gems?!
Quite fast. Apparently.Anyway, he's back and he's defying physics and logic. At one point Chiba runs out of bullets and straight up stabs the next guy with his gun! I'm pretty sure he punched someone through a wall, and another guy he punched his eyeballs out of his head! He likes punching. They should…

The Devil's Nightmare 1971
A first and last directorial effort from Jean Brismée which seems a bit of a shame as this is a decent effort.
I would have thought this French but it is actually Belgian/Italian. It has that feel of a Spanish/Italian movie like Eyeball. A weird bus trip with assorted "characters"... A bit of weird sexual deviance... Lurid murders?!
This features Nazis, family curses, the Devil and a Succubus? Everyone wants some of that succubussy 🤌Actually more arty than I thought it would be.

What Have They Done to Your Daughters? 1974
I find this movie particularly disturbing with post Epstein island hindsight 😬 No-one on that list is getting their comeuppance...
This movie manages to straddle that ground between Giallo and Poliziotteschi. Massimo Dallamano directs the hell out of this, and makes a pretty serious film. I liked all the main leads, and it's always good to see Mario Adorf. The soundtrack was pretty solid too 👌A subversion of both genres but still a very relevant movie.
PS: great poster! 🤌

Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key 1972
Amazing. Half sleazy Giallo (the second Martino in a row I've watched where he has shagging and his name proudly displayed in the opening credits 🤌) and half Edgar Allen Poe creep-fest.
I can remember some ill-advised (and unsolicited) advice I received on the advent of my sister's wedding; "Women love a bastard." Also, beware an angry pussy?! Anyway, this is a masterclass on how to both deliver and subvert the genre. Chef's kiss 🤌Translated from by
