Straight up one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. There’s a feral energy to this like somebody just let a bunch of cameras with minds of their own run loose through the favela, just like the chicken lil ze releases into the streets for the runts to chase. That chicken scene is emblematic of the entire movie, an almost hopeless attempt to escape from an environment where everyone either wants to eat you or catch you and turn you over…
