bug 1: perhaps the grossest, most purposefully perverse and shocking movie i have certainly ever seen. yet i can appreciate some of what it tries to do through the POV of its "deranged and miserable" protag. even an iron-willed freak might struggle to swallow this movie rather than spit. the headlamp shaving scene should go down in history tho.
bug 2: staggeringly wet flick. big fan of its many departures from reality -- dreams, drugs, turkeys. simultaneously not a big fan of the many instances of what can only be described as anal horror. immeasurably grateful i waited until after my colonoscopy to watch this.
bug 1: a political document of our time -- can't change anyone's mind, but it will immortalize some of what it feels like to exist right now. and i love the scary grubs!!!!!
some observations: the human race in this world is presented, largely, as wretchedly incompetent. (that seems very with the zeitgeist for me personally.) ruffalo's studied trumpiness and the presence of red, especially red hats. (overkill? maybe, but i found it worthy exactly for its excess.)

bug 1: a solid w&g. many easter eggs. probably the most beautiful explosion I've watched in recent times. also a good bit with some scaffolding & lighting. however, I could never give full marks to copaganda, even if it hedges a little.
