    Watched this in theaters when it came out and could not have been more upset with the idea that I supported it financially. Genuinely one of the biggest piece of shit movies I've ever seen and I'm so glad the 'mastermind' behind it lost his winery to fund it.

    Visually? so disgusting. Writing? Also unbelievably disgusting. Entertainment value? Zero, zip, nada. Design? tragically disappointing.

    I love the way this movie looks. Early, digital cinema cameras have this really strange, almost uncanny look to them that I adore.

    The character of Vincent is so terrifying yet captivating at the same time, especially given the 'one crazy night' angle this film takes.

    Some strange, slightly problematic framing of masculinity though.

    Way too safe of a movie for what it’s trying to make itself out to be. It feels to me like a student-film that thought it could run a full marathon with zero training but didn’t account for its 1-mile lung capacity; shitting its pants by the 20 minute mark. 

    Nicholas Cage and Makia Monroe aside, of course.

    So happy to see Riz Ahmed showing off his acting chops, I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t receive at least a nomination for this role. He is undoubtably great and the film wouldn’t have worked without him.

    A journey of a film that is equally rewarding as it is well made. Sound design is impeccable. The score, or lack thereof, couldn’t be more fitting. The work that was put into getting the viewer to experience everything along with Ruben shines…
