    Loved the dark, gritty 80s atmosphere here, but I'm not sure about that last act...
    Nevertheless, I enjoyed all of the references from films like "Chinatown" to tv shows like "Dragnet". The LA landscape and much of its infamous Hollywood ones can be seen in glorious display here.

    There was not a moment where I was not engaged and enraptured by the visuals before me. One of those films that feels lived-in and authentic. Probably Malle's most well-known and accessible work, and I can see why.
    I had no idea Irene Jacob was in this until she popped up on screen - what a film to debut in!
