Knives Out 2019
A well-done modern who dunnit. I liked this film a lot.
However, it employs this trope of the "immigrant who can do no wrong," and it doesn't sit quite right with me. It's one thing to write a character who is pure of heart, but another thing to base their purity on their immigrant background. Idk if I'm reading into it too much, but it's pretty overt. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Did anyone else pick up on this?
Great writing, stellar ensemble. Could've given more flaws to the protagonist in order to add to her dimensionality
