grief is monumental and devastating and absurd and horrific and lonely and ordinary
this made me really really sad for so many reasons, but mostly because men are not afforded the freedom to grieve in a patriarchal world. male/masculine grief in this story is (understandably) angry and bitter and lonely. the anger in this film is a symptom of compounding wounds: the grief itself. and the ongoing need for community and connection to move forward from it
