i appreciate the steady hand and clear aversion of any kind of neat parable in this (realistic fiction?). it’s emotions are messy, convoluted, and predicated on very real power dynamics. this sober *feeling of power was pervasive. also, the muddied lens on any topical themes allowed the moments of transcendence to be all the more affecting imo
