Speak No Evil 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
While it’s slightly more entertaining than the original, it’s not nearly as bold. The first movie wasn’t really my cup of tea either, but I do respect it for not playing it safe the way this remake does in the end. For viewers who have seen the 2022 film, there’s not much tension in the first hour and a half due to the two films being nearly beat-for-beat the same during that stretch. And in the end, in true American fashion, the family gets away and saves the little boy. Overall, good performances from McAvoy and Franciosi but a wholly unnecessary American remake.
