A movie that reminds you of the sobering fact that the stable society you live in can easily change over night. That the thin veil of civility we hope can keep civilization somewhat in order can easily be trampled on by power hungry individuals who only seek to enrich themselves. It is a sad film to watch when you already know the ending, but placing this historical event on film in such a successful way is a great achievement.

Another visually stunning film from Ghibli. The world building is magical but I did find myself frustrated by the illogical nature of the narrative. There are many elements that also feel a little rehashed at this point but overall was a pleasant but confusing watch.

Such an impressive film and maybe the most enjoyable Godzilla film I’ve seen. The character development here is fantastic and I love the overall setting and themes. A beautiful film both visual and in the story band overall very impressive.

How could you choose between the ones you love the most? This movie is unsettling and unnerving in the best most effective ways. I don’t understand it all but I want to. I want to consider this film and it’s themes and it’s strange choices. The cast is stacked and the performances are so memorable.
