90% of this movie’s shots are during golden hour, which is sick - truly breathtaking - but I don’t know if I love it. Felt like every character was operating in their own independent timeline. Strangest core of main characters - boyfriend, girlfriend, boyfriend’s little sister, and girlfriend’s husband. Unconventional, but effective.
Loses points for being filmed in Canada despite being set in Texas, which was painfully obvious.
Surprisingly Biblical: mosaic origin story, plague of locusts, eschatological dialogue, sister-wife relationship like Ruth/Naomi.
