Visually stunning and epic with standout performances. Orlando Bloom delivers a solid turn as Balian, while Liam Neeson and Jeremy Irons bring depth and wisdom. Alexander Siddig is a quiet standout, adding humanity to the opposing side. The film critiques the Crusades’ “holy war” narrative, exposing the greed and power plays behind it. Not perfect, but thought-provoking and beautifully crafted.

Not at all what I was expecting but I wasn’t disappointed. I went into this imagining a Mission impossible, 007, or Bourne film when in actuality it was much more like a Kingsman take on espionage. A few far fetched plot points but I believe that’s the whole point, to make fun of spy movies while also giving tribute to the greats. Anyone who goes into this movie light heartedly will not be let down by a comedic action packed adventure with many twists and turns that keep you engaged and on the edge of your seat.

I think this is the best hunger games movie and story that has been released. It develops a young snow into the villain we know him as in the Katniss era very well.

I think this movie had the opportunity to provide heart warming nostalgic references to the original 3 movies and while it did have some, it could’ve done a much better job at making the original older generation audience, that saw the originals in the theatre, feel important.
