  What can I say about this film that hasn’t already been said? Surf’s Up is a masterpiece so expertly handled I forget I’m watching a documentary at times. You can really see the inspiration pulled from classic documentaries like Grey Gardens and Bowling for Columbine. 

  I do wish they had spent a little more time on how a post 9-11 world affected the local surfing culture and economy of Pen Gua and the famous Big Z Memorial Surf Competition, but…
