Would’ve been much more compelling as a linear story without narration IMO. Hardly any chance to build tension when you hop into the center of the story and just say all the subtext out loud. I guess it makes sense for a comedy though. And honestly a gripping thriller is kinda the last thing I need right now. I’m in my escapism era and this kinda worked for that.

If you told me that Nicolas Cage is Italian before I saw this film, I would have been dumbstruck. If this were the only Nicolas Cage film I’d seen, he would forever live in my heart as the most Italian man alive. I do not know what to do with this.
Incredible movie about disobeying men, and women fostering growth among each other. The only man that Bella does not directly disobey is someone that tries to impose his philosophy onto her which she immediately rejects. She is a free agent capable of independent thought.
