Unorganized thoughts:
- La Chimera took a little too much from this. In retrospect, that film feels more like a retelling than an original film. With that out of the way, Pasolini sure knows how to build.
- In its depiction of poverty, I feel this film shares similarities with the work of Ousmane Sembène.
- Though no connection could be found on the internet, they refer to the prostitutes as “poor thing.” Curious given the main character embraces prostitution…
Let Pasolini season begin!
“There’s a reason they call me the suit of Catania!”
I knew this would succeed where the last 3 Wes Anderson’s films had failed because Roald Dahl is a phenomenal writer and Wes is unfortunately only slight better than average.
