For me to really get pulled into a musical, the first song needs to impress me. Unfortunately, this one did not. But, I stayed watching and I’m so glad I did because, well… Defying Gravity 🙌

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo did such a good job at playing their roles. They sing and work well together. Can’t wait for part 2.

Also, I do need to add that Michelle Yeoh as a villain was a great thing to see.

Not me already getting emotional at 15 minutes into the movie 🥲 My reaction to whenever anxiety did anything was 😮‍💨😭😩🫣🫢😑 This movie doesn’t fail at showing what it’s like dealing with anxiety, which I like. The part when Joy said Anxiety was using Riley’s imagination against her, I was like duuuude 😮‍💨 and the part where Joy told Anxiety “You don’t get to choose who Riley is. I’ll start of my review with my favorite scene in this movie:

Dottie: Hey is this all of you? Marla didn’t come?
    Doris: She came.
Dottie: Yeah well where is she then?
Kit: There. (She points to where Marla is)
Marla: (Drunk and singing “It Had to Be You” to Nelson)
Dottie: What did you do to her?
Doris: Nothing, we just gave her a dress.
Mae: And a lot of liquor 😂

I have so much to say about…

Oh so… kind of like The Notebook but she got married 😂

Everything in this movie, the costumes, hairstyles, music, and story made me feel like I was watching a movie from the 50’s 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s which I love love.

I thought the transitions and how the story was told was super cool.

    Just one thing…

I love Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling and I love when they do movies together because they have such great chemistry. But…
