What a great atmosphere. I really felt like I was watching a murder mystery. Except that that's not what it was. Except it was. Did I assume that that would happen once we veered away from the presence of a mystery? Sure, but it didn't make it any less satisfying when it came to its' conclusion. One of the best MCU films to date. Distancing themselves from a heavily computer generated film like some of the more recent entries in the franchise, the Russo brothers create a wonderful story with real world ties on par with those in The Dark Knight that feels just as real to watch. The addition of Scarlet Johansson was a fantastic choice, and her chemistry with Evans is undeniable. The film moves at a great pace, and the coreagraphy here may just be the best in the franchise. Standout performances come from Johansson, Evans, and the somewhat sparsely used, but always wonderful Robert Redford.
One of my favorite movies of all time. It's likely that no theater experience will ever capture the pure joy of seeing these characters that I loved throughout my childhood coming together on screen.
