Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 2024
it is impossible not to compare it to "fury road". the movie itself wants to be compared to it constantly, from the easy comparisons between jack and max, the appearance of max out of nowhere, as if to remind the audience that yes, he exists, here you go, and the final scene which is just to segway into the previous movie and made me wonder if these clones of the wives were cgi.

The Little Mermaid 2023
As an experience, it was perfectly enjoyable. Two of the classic musical numbers, "Under The Sea" and "Part of Your World" are performed wonderfully, the underwater effects are nowhere as bad as it has been warned, the set design has, at times, the same neat level of detail that other remakes like Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella have, and of course, Halle Bailey's performance was excellent. These Disney remakes live and die by the ability of its main cast…

Toy Story 4 2019
i am very aware that my personal calification of the toy story movies (much like most of the other pixar movies) is extremely permeated by a sense of nostalgia and affection toward the themes and characters that -unironically- i feel ive grown up with.
