I heard about the story of William Kamkwamba's windmill while learning about Malawi, and then I come to find out that Chiwetel Ejiofor, an actor I really enjoy, adapted this story as his directorial debut, so of course I had to watch.
This is a respectable debut--cinematography, soundtrack, acting, and commitment to the vision were very present, though perhaps missing a little something to make this reach true greatness. Maybe that something is just experience--I would love to see Ejiofor continue directing and building that experience.
In any case, a story very worth telling.
