28 Days Later 2002
To have seen this projected in 35mm back in 2002… it’s sad the print and sound was absolutely mangled on a modern DCP, but I won’t blame the film for the lack of care corporate cinemas like Cineworld put into a re-release like this.
All being said watching 28 days later in 2024 following Shallow Grave a week earlier truly shows Danny Boyle’s mastery as a director. Also I’d quickly like to tip my hat at Alex Garlands excellent screenplay.…

Completely blew me away. In a time where cinema is oversaturated with dull and uninteresting and predictable story lines, Tar subverted expectations, so much attention to detail from Todd Field. Perhaps Cate Blanchett’s best performance to date.
This is a reminder of the effect and experience great cinema leaves you with as you walk out those theatre doors.
