The Criterion Challenge 2025 - #4
I adore a lot about this movie especially the cinematography and the overall look but I think that over 90 minutes of non-stop singing in french was just a little bit too much for me. The characters felt pretty flat too.
There were a lot of great things in this one but sadly it just didn't click with me that much.

One of the, if not THE biggest Oscar snub I've seen in my life. I'm rating it again just to comfort myself and to feel better after wasting 4 hours of my life hoping that one of my favourite movies ever will get some awards. Why do I even care at this point? What a feckin bullshit. And no, I'm not putting my donkey outside when I'm sad!
Pretty good show but I certainly didn't see anything too special here as most of the people did. BEEF has some fantastic moments and the highlights are great but it's too inconsistent for me and I had one huge problem with it, it seems like nobody else mentioned this.
