  I adored this film. 
  A Soviet Armenian film about an Yazidi Kurdish romance set in WW1.
  I was worried there would be snobbishness or worse but the culture (outside of the religious elements) is presented without comment with outsiders who are unaware of traditions seen as fools and anthropologists as voyeurs.  
  There is strong soviet message that religion is bad which seen with the corrupt and predatory cleric and the failings of the beliefs but given it was made…

  This film is so criminally underrated, not only a sweet coming of age film but also An incredible snapshot of early 90s russia without resorting to lazy stereotypes. Important as well for LGBT represention in Welsh film . Would recommend even just as a historical document.
