  The prosthetics and visual effects are incredibly ingenious for the period - I like to imagine no modern production could really match the aesthetics, even with heavy CGI use.

  Ultimately devoid of any meaningful narrative, BIRTH is just a bunch of strung-together contextual action scenes fueled by pure 80s aesthetics. Nevertheless, it's a delight to watch, with beautifully creative animation, a gorgeous synth soundtrack, and an overall wacky vibe that leaves you wanting more despite the distinct lack of narrative. It's memorable, not for being a 'well-told story' but an outright 'experience'.
