Seeing this in the cinema for me was more immersive than any IMAX experience. A simple google search is enough to set the bar for this film. It’s rare you see a black and white movie you simply couldn’t picture in colour. Their whole universe existed in monochrome to me. It’s also rare you see the pure monotony of “hanging about” acted to perfection. Credit where credits due. Drop a comment below on your thoughts!
This almost had everything. An Irish American setting. Classic 90s cinema feel. Harrison and Pitt. Yet it fell incredibly short on its promise. With what director Alan J. Pakula was working with he could have made something incredibly special. The father son dynamic between the two leads is enough to give this film a watch. However, don’t hold out for much as you’ll be disappointed by a lazy and unthought out plot.
