The Brutalist 2024
True to the title this film is quite brutal! In the world of architecture Brutalism is big and bold and that’s exactly what this is. But it’s also dramatic, dark, stylish and artistic. Brody is an absolute titan on screen and Pearce also gives a stellar performance.
A film like this can only be watched properly in the cinema.

Sling Blade 1996
Good film. Billy Bob Thornton showing his talents here to write, direct and star in this one. When portraying this kind of role (Karl Childers - intellectually disabled man who spent 25 years in a mental hospital for murder) the acting has to be top notch and Thornton is just that! Nice and simple story, would recommend.

2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
First and foremost, I have no idea what this film meant. What I do know is this is a cinematic masterpiece from Kubrick. The music paired with the silent moments made it incredibly tense and the ’bad-guy’ role if you like, of HAL 9000 is phenomenal. The cinematography is unrivalled for its time. I know that watching this on the biggest screen possible (potentially jacked up on some illicit substances 💊 😉) would probably warrant this a 5 star rating.
