Wow. Just wow. Rewatched this film tonight and i can’t believe i forgot how good this movie is. Call me a filmbro, this film is perfection. The length of the movie is perfect, not too short, not too long, just perfect. J.K Simmons’ role as Fletcher is terrifyingly astonishing, i felt as though my heart was in my mouth any time he was on the screen. One thing that i loved was that the only music played in the movie…
Christopher Nolan’s interstellar is an incredible sci-fi movie, and upon rewatch i actually believe i enjoyed it even more than my original watch through, but i still personally view it as slightly overrated. Don’t get me wrong, this film is a masterpiece in terms of narrative, score, acting and cinematography, but i perceive the movie to drag out in parts, for example, the whole altercation with Matt Damon’s character Dr Mann. Although i enjoyed this story arc, it just felt…
“It’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be.”
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a beautiful, touching, poignant and bittersweet movie following the life of “Benjamin Button” living his life in reverse. The film is beautifully photographed and true to the periods it represents, with the background score capturing the film’s essence perfectly, tranquil and serene. Brad Pitt is fantastic as usual, and those CGI and makeup techniques for him…
Surprised it took me this long to watch but what a movie. Genuinely unsettling from the first scene to the very last. Jodie Foster is excellent as Clarice, but Anthony Hopkins stole the show for me, in one of those performances that make you fully aware that he is a generational actor, outstanding performance. The dynamic and chemistry between Hopkins and Foster is palpable, the tension, the unease, making you wonder who is playing who.
If suspense and psychological thrillers are for you, then this must rate as one of the greatest ever made.
