Unfortunately mid. Reviews hyped this as the next 'iron giant', 'best of the last decade'.

It really isn't. The hand painted backgrounds are very nice, but the character animation is tiring. The story beats are cliched as hell.

There's a very admirable lens on death and the circle of life, delicately exposing it's ruthlessness whilst keeping it palatable for a child. But if you're a young adult without a kid, there's nothing of value here.

an absolute must see in cinema with ideally 20-100 freaks around you

Follows a community over 40 years as they deal with Cuba's changing economy.

Would've liked to see the doco more explicitly blame America for their situation, they leave that story a bit ambiguous in order to focus on the people.
