  Tarkovsky is the Tolstoy to Kubrick’s Dostoyevsky. (I’m taking a 19th century Russian literature class can’t yall tell). 
  He’s great at defamiliarisation + transposing the unfamiliar back onto our reality. 
  I loved the rain flowing into a cup of tea, somehow that felt both viscerally violation and comforting at the same time. 
  Can’t wait to see more of his work

  The soundtrack felt pushy and I knowwww that Tarantino is a master of the needle drop, I just thought that some moments could use more silence.
