Video evidence wouldn't have mattered.
I like much about this, but ultimately since you are viewing it through the eyes of political metaphor, it seems like none of it makes much difference.
Saw this at a Regal theater last night. I think it's 18 or so years since I last saw it. I remembered so much of it, lines of dialogue, moments big and small. Last night I was struck more by the smaller scenes (Tom telling Vito about Sonny, and the Senator Corleone scene) even more than the iconic ones. Truly a masterpiece. Going back tonight to rewatch part 2.
